From an Idea to Reality . . .

We are Eric and Michail, 2 friends that after hiking many trails we realized that every piece of gear were vital to achieve those big challenge. We broke bags, lamps, microspike, tent and had to replace them as soon as possible to continue the adventure.

Coming back from those adventures we rethought our life and valuing reliable items versus quantity .

Not finding the perfect products on the market we decided to start our own design.

The Spark . . .

The first step was to organise our project, allocate a budget, time and what kind of product we wanted to build.

The second step was to find material, sewing machines

Then we built our first prototype was born after lot of struggle with the machine, fabrics.

As we were quite exited to pitch our first tent, the result was quite disapointed. The main issue of this prototype was the overall stability of the A frame that wasnt suitable for camping in high wind.

The first steps . . .

After the disappointment of the first prototype we analysed our errors and decided to restart from 0.

First optimise the shape, improoved our sewing technics and our process.

We also learned how the fabric behave under tension and how to counter act it.

We also started working with more premium material to have the feeling of a real ultralight tent.

Trial and errors . . .

From the 17 concepts we studied, we analysed carefuly all requirements and compare them one to each others.

we continues with 2 most promising design, a six sides tent and and eight sides tent.

We built several iteration of both tent s and they both showed pros and cons but the 6 sides won for its simplicity, weight and cost.

The optimisation . . .

From there we started to focus on 1 single design, the one pole pyramidal tent design.

Why ? because its the most robust, weatherproof, lighter and easy to pitch design.

After 3 iterations, we mastered the sewing, the shape, the process and the material choices.

For the first time after 4 years of development, we are both happy about the result !
